It is important to make sure wood is protected on all sides and edges, whether or not they will be seen. This provides extra protection to help avoid cupping and splitting, and also ensures there will be no unfinished spots peeking through when the wood inevitably shrinks and swells.
While there are many great products you can use that will provide protection for your wood siding, we recommend using Lifetime Wood Treatment for exterior projects. Lifetime is a one-and-done weathering treatment that requires minimal maintenance and a beautiful barn wood-like finish.
Making sure your wood siding is clean is one of the best things you can do to help extend the life of the product. We recommend using Perma-Chink’s Log Wash once a year to protect and maintain the natural beauty of the wood.
